Check out the grand opening of the W Hotel in downtown Brooklyn, New York over Labor Day weekend and enjoy some free concerts in the hotel’s Brooklyn Sky Loungelocated at 216 Duffield Street (between Willoughby Street and Fulton Avenue). The indoor/outdoor lounge is located on the 24th floor, and captures 360º views of the city. On Labor Day Sunday, September 4th performing is Jamaican Reggae and Dancehall artist Barrington Levy. One of the great success stories of the lat 25 years, Barrington Levy, arrived on the dancehall scene and swiftly remodeled it in his own image. Although numerous DJs and vocalists would rise and fall during this decade, Levy was one of the few with staying power, and he continued releasing massive hits well into the ’90s, with numerous classic hits, such as, “Here I Come”, “Black Roses”, and “Under Mi Sensi”. He is one of the few Reggae artitst with staying power, and he continues to attract audiences worldwide.
On Labor Day Monday, September 5th will be the show-stopper Kes the Band hailing from Trinidad and Tobago. If you have never attended this Soca band’s performance before, now is the time. The highly engaging band’s soulful frontman Kees Dieffenthaller always delivers a stimulating vocal performance that leaves audiences hungering for more. In 2011, the band won Trinidad and Tobago‘s Groovy Soca Monarch title with their hit “Wotless”.
For your further enjoyment, music will be provided on Labor Day Sunday, September 4th by DJs Kevin Crown, Legend Sound, GBM, and Notorious; and on Labor Day Monday, September 5th by DJs Back 2 Basics, Private Ryan, and GBM.
