Free Things to Do this Weekend in New York – April 8-10

Do you get to this weekend and always wonder what free things to do are available in New York on Friday to Sunday? Each weekend, many of the national retailers host great fun, free family events so look no further as we have compiled a number of free things to do this weekend! Some of the offerings include:

Toys R Us – Come on out on Saturday from 11am-1pm and let the kids enjoy Thomas the Train Play Date:  This is a great event to enjoy story time, coloring and FREE giveaways!

Lowes Build and Grow Clinics for the Kids –Every month, Lowe’s stores hold FREE Build and Grow Clinics, and on Saturday April 9, 2011, your children will be able to build and keep a SPORTS PINBALL game this Saturday!Each participant also receives a free apron, goggles, a iron-on patch, and a certification of merit upon completion.

Michaels – Come on out on Saturday from Saturday 10am-1pm, The Knack Crayola Event FREE Make-It Take-It: Create Vivid Art with Crayola Neon Explosion.  Then turn aournd and do it again on Sunday from 1pm-3pm at the The Knack Easter Pail Event FREE Make-It Take-It: Decorate an Easter pail.

Pottery Barn Kids –Join in on Saturday 9am for the free class called Planning Your Nursery: learn how to create a spectacular nursery. You’ll get to plan your space, pick a theme and decorate it. Attendees will get 10% off select products. (Call your local store to RSVP)

Target – Target is a big supporter of the arts and sponsors many free admission days around the country.  Just select a city to find free or reduced-price admission to arts and cultural events in your area, sponsored by Target.

Babies R Us – Saturday Noon-3pm, FREE Super Baby Shower: learn about the must-have products for every mom’s Baby Registry, valuable tips and ideas for planning a baby shower, plus enjoy great savings and free giveaways.

Disney Store – free Minnie’s Masquerade
– Friday, Session1 4:30pm or Session 2: 6:00pm
– Saturday, Session 1: 11:00am (10:30am Select Stores) or Session 2: 12:30pm
*An exclusive viewing party of Minnie’s Masquerade, a craft activity – make your own royal crown, and a fun costume parade where everyone wins a prize! Minimum age for participation is 3 years. Event limited to a maximum of 25 children per session. No lineups prior to 30 minutes before event begins

Jo-Ann Fabric & Craft Stores – Saturday 11am-1pm, Free Demo: Foodcrafting with Cricut Cake.

Lakeshore Learning – Saturday 11am-3pm, Kids create a Free Spring Chik using colored feathers, wiggly eyes, dot painters and more.

Walgreens – Make your way over to a Walgreens on April 9th and pick up a FREE Crazy Bones Toy on the morning of Saturday, April 9. More than 1 Million FREE Gogos will be given out at Walgreens across the US!  and 5,000 of the Million pieces will be a special never before released, limited edition run of Miro-K.
