Free Shakespeare in Central Park – Starts June 9

For over 50 years, The Public Theater has been proud to bring free performances of Shakespeare in the Park to over 100,000 people each summer at the Delacorte Theater in Central Park.  This long-standing tradition has joined esteemed artists with audiences from all over the world to celebrate Shakespeare and other classic works.  Free tickets are available both in person and online to the general public.

Here is the Summer Schedule of Performances

Free tickets for Shakespeare in the Park are distributed via the free line at the Delacorte Theater in Central Park, and on the web via our Virtual Ticketing system.  In addition, a limited number of tickets to specific performances will be distributed on special days this summer via free lines throughout the Boroughs of New York City.

WHERE: Shakespeare in the Park is performed at the Delacorte Theater in Central Park. The Central Park entrances closest to the theater are at 81st Street and Central Park West or 79th Street and Fifth Avenue.

See below for two ways to get FREE TICKETS to Shakespeare in the Park. Please note: The Public Theater will not be distributing tickets downtown at 425 Lafayette Street.

IN CENTRAL PARK: FREE tickets to Shakespeare in the Park are distributed on the day of the performance beginning at 1PM at The Delacorte Theater in Central Park. The closest entrances to the Delacorte are at 81st Street and Central Park West or 79th Street and Fifth Avenue. There is a limit of 2 tickets per person. Please check back in late-May for more information!

ONLINE:   While the majority of free tickets for Shakespeare in the Park are distributed via the free line at the Delacorte Theater, a limited number of tickets will be available the day of each performance online. People are chosen at random, not in the order requests are received. Check back the link for more information.
